I must admit that when I started the comic, I had intentionally made the human character designs a little extra cartoon like. This was because, if you dig back into the archives, you’ll see that a lot of the earlier strips just involve dinosaurs eating people. It was easier (and more hilarious) to do this the less human and relatable they were, but in today’s comic we explore the human frailties behind the mask.

Last week I discussed some technical goals for 2018, but I’ve had some time to think about it and I came up with a list of 5 things I’d like to work on:

  1. Create a more long form story arc. Even if it’s just a one pager, it would be an interesting challenge to adapt the comic to that format and storytelling style.
  2. More guest strips. I have a bunch of talented friends, and I’d love to showcase a collaboration with them!
  3. Create character reference sheets, turn arounds, and play with perspective and composition in my panels. I mean, I guess.
  4. Create more enamel pins! I made some pins for the comic last year, and I’d like to continue to play with that idea. You actually purchase one online right now, and I’ll probably be putting a few more designs on the store in the near future. Every purchase supports the comic and helps me to keep producing and hosting new content!
  5. Be more active on social media. I currently use them as platforms to announce new comics weekly and that’s about it, but I’d like to create some more content and engage more specifically in those spaces.

After typing it all out, that list seems more ambitious then it did when it was just in my head. It’s only January though, so I can’t wait to dig into it. I hope you’ll join me and see how Dino Timecop Force evolves this year!
